Depending on the type of test, the base plate can act as a stand-alone reaction mass or as a cap to a large concrete reaction mass. In either case, T-Slots have proven to be the most efficient and versatile method of linking the test rig to the reaction mass. Bay Cast Technologies has made this a cost effective choice by casting the T-Slots in place. Cast T-Slots are structurally stronger and less costly to produce than slots cut from solid.

Bay Cast Technologies standard T-Slots can either be provided completely as-cast or as-cast with a machined throat. T-Slots are typically located on 12", 6", 250mm, 300mm centers in one direction or two. For precision or specialized applications T-Slots can be custom machined per the American National Standard T-Slot specification (ANSI B5.1 M-1985).
